Davila, Juarez earn postseason hoops honors

Word through the grapevine is that Alexander senior Dana Davila was named to the TABC All-State girls basketball team.

Davila scored 2,042 points this season and became the first Laredo athlete, male or female, in this decade to score that many.

She led the Gateway City in scoring at 24.9 points per game and also handed out six assists and compiled seven steals per game.

Also, United's sophomore center Fred Juarez was selected to the TABC All-Region team.

Juarez averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. He was the only Laredoan named to the team.

It's not only a word...it's a fact Dana was selected to the all-state team by the Texas Girls Basketball Association. Way to go Dana!!!!You kick butt!!! You may not have been selected MVP, but this is much more rewarding. Makes one wonder what the criteria for MVP selections is from our Laredo Coaches.....HHHMMMM
