2009 LMT Little League tab
The 2009 Laredo Morning Times Little League tab will be published on June 28.
Deadline for submissions for photos with cutlines and names is June 23 at 5 p.m.
American, Sports Academy, National, Optimist, Hillside, Rio Grande, Gateway, Del Mar, Webb Pal and North West, as well as any other little league teams, must submit team photos, complete with names and cutlines and league affiliate (majors, minors, juniors, tee-ball, etc.), to the Laredo Morning Times offices at 111 Esperanza Drive or via e-mail to jlindsay@lmtonline.com.

Northwest coach-pitch tourney
Northwest Little League will be hosting a coach-pitch tournament for seven and eight-year olds on Saturday. There will trophies for first, second, and third place. Entry fee is $150. Deadline for registration is tomorrow. For more information contact David Mitchell at 740-2011.
LBJ tennis camp
The LBJ tennis team will be hosting a tennis camp this week at the SAC. Fundamentals of tennis will be instructed.
The camp will run through tomorrow from 8:15-10 a.m.
Participants are asked to bring their own sports drinks. Water will be provided.
There is no charge for the camp, and all incoming ninth grade
LBJ students are encouraged to come.

United football camps
The United Longhorns football team will host three camps this summer at the United High School practice football field.
A summer strength and conditioning camp has already begun and will be held Monday-Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. until Thursday, July 23.
Cost of the camp is $30, and there is bus pickup at Washington Middle School.
From July 27-30, there will be a camp for football players in third through sixth grades from 8-11:30 a.m.
From August 3-6, a camp for all seventh and eighth grade football palyers from Washington and Trautmann Middle Schools or any others who will attend United will be held from 8-11:30 a.m.
Both youth camps are $30, and participants will receive a United football camp T-shirt and cap.
Summer tennis camp
Laredo Parks & Leisure is hosting its summer tennis camp at the United High School courts on McPherson starting this week.
There will be morning sessions for beginners (8:30-9:50 a.m.) and intermediates (9:50-11:10 p.m.) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and evening sessions for beginners (6:30-7:30 p.m.), intermediates (7:30-8:30 p.m.) and advanced players (8:30-9:30 p.m.) from Monday-Thursday.
Camps began last week and will continue through next week.

United baseball banquet
The United Baseball Booster Club is holding its annual banquet on Thursday at Roli’s Music Hall at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at the door.

Longhorn Summer Scorcher Tennis tourney
The Longhorn Summer Scorcher Open Tennis Tournament will be begin on Friday and end on Saturday. The tournament is open to all ages and levels. To enter call United Coach Mark Collins at 763-9386 The tournament will be played at the United High School Freshman Campus (the Old High School) at 8800 McPherson. On Friday, the junior singles will begin at 8:00 A.M. and the junior doubles begin at 2:00 P.M., with all adult singles beginning at 6:00 P.M. On Saturday, the adult doubles will begin at 12:00 P.M. and the mixed doubles beginning at 5:00 P.M.
Heat Youth Soccer Club
The Laredo Heat Soccer Club has announced their 2009 Summer Soccer Camp Dates.
Kids, this is your opportunity to improve your soccer skills, develop new techniques, make new friends and meet the Laredo Heat soccer players up close and personal.
Camp Details:
- Session Two: Monday, June 22, to Thursday, June 25, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Both sessions will take place at the St. Patrick’s Church soccer field and covered gym area. St. Patrick’s Church is located at 555 East Del Mar Blvd.
The cost for each session is $75.00 per camper and it will include soccer training sessions, a water bottle, a soccer ball and a camp T-shirt.
The soccer camp will be available to boys and girls who have reached the age of five prior to the start of the camps and not older than 12 years of age at the time of registration
